Michelle Christine Sommers
Michelle Christine Sommers, 65, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, in San Diego, California, after battling pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her husband, daughter, and son-in-law.
Born on September 28, 1960, Michelle was known for her sharp sense of humor, strong personality, love of animals, and enjoyment of reading. She had a particular love for cats and spent many years volunteering with animal organizations and helping care for animals.
Michelle is survived by her husband, James Sommers III; her son, Kenneth Sommers, and his wife Danielle; and her daughter, Kristina Lopez, and her husband Carlos. She was a proud grandmother to Kaylani and Kira Lopez, and Whaley Sommers.
She is also survived by her parents, Kenneth and Judy Plis, and her father-in-law, James Sommers Jr.
Michelle was preceded in death by her sister, Jennifer Plis, and her mother-in-law, Linda Sommers.
She will be remembered for her humor, her unmistakable personality, and the love she had for her family, animals, and the things that brought her happiness.
